The peculiarities of the radiation damage accumulation kinetics in the case of defect complex formation
2020
Abstract The kinetics of radiation defect accumulation under irradiation by heavy particles is theoretically analysed under the assumption of defect complex genesis, particularly, the ones of anion and cation vacancies. The obtained analytical mathematical model and revealed peculiarities of radiation dose dependencies can be used for analysis of the experimental results for different crystalline materials for solid-state electronics and photonics.
Cooperation of Secondary Transporters and Sensor Kinases in Transmembrane Signalling
2016
Many membrane-bound sensor kinases require accessory proteins for function. The review describes functional control of membrane-bound sensors by transporters. The C4-dicarboxylate sensor kinase DcuS requires the aerobic or anaerobic C4-dicarboxylate transporters DctA or DcuB, respectively, for function and forms DctA/DcuS or DcuB/DcuS sensor complexes. Free DcuS is in the permanent (ligand independent) ON state. The DctA/DcuS and DcuB/DcuS complexes, on the other hand, control expression in response to C4-dicarboxylates. In DctA/DcuS, helix 8b of DctA and the PASC domain of DcuS are involved in interaction. The stimulus is perceived by the extracytoplasmic sensor domain (PASP) of DcuS. The …
Nanoparticle decoration impacts airborne fungal pathobiology
2018
Airborne fungal pathogens, predominantly Aspergillus fumigatus, can cause severe respiratory tract diseases. Here we show that in environments, fungal spores can already be decorated with nanoparticles. Using representative controlled nanoparticle models, we demonstrate that various nanoparticles, but not microparticles, rapidly and stably associate with spores, without specific functionalization. Nanoparticle-spore complex formation was enhanced by small nanoparticle size rather than by material, charge, or "stealth" modifications and was concentration-dependently reduced by the formation of environmental or physiological biomolecule coronas. Assembly of nanoparticle-spore surface hybrid s…
The quantitative humoral immune response to the hepatitis C virus is correlated with disease activity and response to interferon-alpha.
1996
Virus-host interactions may have pathogenetic significance in chronic hepatitis. Thus the humoral immune response was evaluated during the clinical course of HCV-infected patients.Eighteen selected chronic HCV patients received three doses of 3 or 6 MU interferon-alpha 2a weekly for 6 to 12 months and were followed up for 6 to 60 months. Anti-HCV antibody levels were serially measured either in end-point diluted sera with the Matrix-Assay or with quantitative anti-HC34-IgG and -IgM ELISA. Circulating immune complexes were assessed by flow cytometry and the results were correlated with histology, quantitative HCV-RNA levels and genotypes.Nine complete responders (CR; genotypes 1a n = 4; 1b n…
Synthesis, characterization of diorganotin(IV) complexes of N-(2-hydroxyarylidene)aminoacetic acid and antitumour screening in vivo in ehrlich ascite…
2001
Some new diorganotin(IV) complexes have been prepared by reacting potassium N-(2-hydroxyarylidene)aminoacetate with R2SnCl2(R = Me,nBu,Ph). The complexes have been characterized by 1H,13C,119Sn NMR, IR and 119mSn Mössbauer spectroscopic techniques in combination with elemental analysis. In the solid state, the complexes possess penta- and hexa-coordinated tin centres. The hexa-coordinated tin complexes were found to dissociate in solution, giving rise to penta-coordinated species as revealed by 119Sn NMR spectroscopy. Antitumour screening in vivo of the complexes L4snPh2,L4SnPh2· Ph3SnCl and L4SntBU2·t Bu2SnCl2 (L4 = N-(2-hydroxyacetophenone)aminoacetate) is also reported. Copyright © 2001 …
On the formation of inclusion complexes at the solid/liquid interface of anchored temperature-responsive PNIPAAM diblock copolymers with γ-cyclodextr…
2017
The thermal responsive behavior of adsorbed layers of diblock copolymers of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAM) and poly((3-acrylamidopropyl)trimethylammonium chloride) (PAMPTMA(+)) with γ-cyclodextrin (γ-CD) at the solid/liquid interface has been investigated using three in situ techniques: null ellipsometry, quartz–crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring, and neutron reflectometry. The measurements provided information about the adsorbed amounts, the layer thickness, hydration and viscoelastic properties, and the interfacial structure and composition. The copolymers adsorb to silica with the cationic PAMPTMA(+) blocks sitting as anchors in a flat conformation and the PNIPAAM ch…
Sequestration of organomettalic compounds by synthetic and naturally occuring polycarboxylate ligands. Binding of monomethylmercury(II) by polyacryli…
2007
The sequestering capacity of synthetic and naturally occurring polycarboxylate ligands towards mono- methylmercury(II) was evaluated by stability quantitative data on the interaction of CH3Hgþ with different molecular weight synthetic polyacrylates (2 and 20 kDa average M.wt) and alginate (70– 100 kDa) extracted from brown algae Macrocystis pyrifera. The influence of ionic medium was evaluated by measurements on the CH3Hgþ-polyacrylate systems in NaNO3 medium at different ionic strengths (0.10, 0.25, 0.50 and 0.75mol Lÿ1), and a Debye–Hu¨ ckel type equation was used for the dependence of complex formation constants on ionic strength. Measurements on the CH3Hgþ - alginate system were carried…

Comparison of different phosphorus-containing ligands complexing 68Ga for PET-imaging of bone metabolism
2010
Abstract 99mTc-phosphonate structures are well established tracers for bone tumour imaging. Our objective was to investigate different 68Ga-labelled phosphonate ligands concerning labelling kinetics, binding to hydroxyapatite and bone imaging using μ-PET. Seven macrocyclic phosphorus-containing ligands and EDTMP were labelled in nanomolar scale with n.c.a. 68Ga in Na-HEPES buffer at pH∼4. Except for DOTP, all ligands were labelled with >92% yield. Binding of the 68Ga-ligand complexes on hydroxyapatite was analysed to evaluate the effect of the number of the phosphorus acid groups on adsorption parameters. Adsorption of 68Ga-EDTMP and 68Ga-DOTP was >83%. For the 68Ga-NOTA-phosphonates …
A new selective fluorogenic probe for trivalent cations.
2012
[EN] A new selective chromo-fluorogenic probe for Fe 3+, Cr 3+ and Al 3+ is reported. Detection limits are in the ¿M range and the fluorogenic sensing ability could be observed by the naked eye when illuminated with UV-light. No response is observed with divalent cations. © 2012 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
